The workshop is delivered by Jon Lipsey, a branding specialist who steered Men’s Fitness mag to its highest ever circulation. Jon is the founder of a successful media agency (IronLife Media); creator of numerous award-winning fitness brands; the mastermind behind several content apps that have topped the App Store download and grossing charts; and now co-founder of content-led website newbodyplan.co.uk which gives users high-quality advice and information on training, nutrition and lifestyle.
Jon is uniquely placed to understand and advise on the intersection between fitness, branding, entrepreneurialism, and business success. As a longtime ally of the IFBA (and contributor to the Business Blueprint), he will give you the knowhow and the guidance you need to succeed.
- Introduction: Your brand is your business
We’ll kick off the day by looking at what a brand is and why it matters to your business.
- Part 1: Who do you think you are?
The first thing we’ll look at is what makes your brand distinctive and the concept of a USP. We’ll look at how important it is and we’ll have an interactive session on identifying your brand’s USP. We’ll also look at what you do if you’re struggling to identify a strong USP.
- Part 2: Brand dissection
This interactive section focuses on the questions you should ask yourself that will help you hone in on why your brand exists and what it represents. They will also reveal the strength of your brand and how well you’re able to articulate its value to potential clients.
- Part 3: Decoding your brand DNA
This is where we really begin to flesh out your brand so you know exactly what messages you’re trying to get across. We’ll examine the following key elements of your brand DNA:
- Part 4: It’s what’s on the outside that counts
We’ll break down the important elements of your brand’s visual identity so you know what needs attention. We’ll do a live analysis of the following elements of your brand identity:
- Part 5: Would you pass a brand MOT?
In this section you can conduct a quick brand MOT, by seeing how you rate against the seven qualities of a strong brand.
- Part 6: Become a brand grandmaster
This is where we look at some more advanced branding concepts that will push you into an elite level of branding activity.
